    Thursday 3/3/22 Quarry Hill:

    • The west ballfield and Parkwood Hills were not groomed.
    • There are sections of skateable snow in the woods but be prepared for the ice sections.
    • There is a skateable “oval” around the Parkwood Hills ballpark.
    • There is a nice skateable section from the Parkwood lot to almost the bridge, then ice takes over.
I would summarize the trail conditions as poor to fair with moments of good.

All of Essex trails groomed with classic tracks set.  Skate deck in very good shape for a thin base.

One notable Exception - the open fields to the north along 55th street are not groomed this year due to City logging activities

Tuesday night 2/22/22:  Only about 1-1/2 inches of snow but the Quarry Hills ski trails were groomed.  A few wind-blown thin areas.

Monday 2/21/22:  I attempted to groom Quarry Hill this morning but after yesterday's melt and re-freeze the trails are in poor condition especially around the Nature Center and trails that were exposed to the sun.  Some fairly decent trails in the woods but you have to get to them first.  For Birkie and Korte skiers this might be a day of rest and wait for tomorrow's snow.

Groomed QH today 2/12.  The trails are in surprisingly good condition.  The classic track is washed out in some places, but it's mostly there and very good.  There are a few too-thin spots, but very few, and easily avoided.

Thursday 2/20/22:  The skating deck was refreshed at Quarry Hill this morning.  The classic track was left as-is.  There's a few spots with dirt showing through but they can be avoided.

Monday 2/7/2022:  Quarry Hill ski trails were groomed today.  The skating deck is in very good condition as well as most of the classic track.  Unfortunately a Rochester city truck drove on a small portion of the trail out to the west ball field leaving tire ruts down the center of the skate deck.  (See attachment)
